Summary, some banks have risk models that will block an account if you deviate what they define as "normal" behavior for you. Some banks don't.
ie: if you live and spend within 100 miles of your residence and all of the sudden there are charges for fuel (biggie for us Rvers) far away from home, it could trip a risk flag. Easily overcome by calling ahead of time to suspend that portion of the risk model.
Some think it's not right and an infringement on their privacy. Others respect that it exists for everyone's protection.
Think that about covers it.
The rest got way too detailed largely due to my ramblings.
