We're still new too, but we lived for years aboard our sailboat. One thing that we found is you must have "private" space. Everyone needs privacy sometime. Our "privacy" space was as simple as hanging the hammock on the foredeck - away from the cockpit which was our family room.
We also used our kayaks for "private time". Amazing how just a bit of time isolated will do to improve one's disposition after too much togetherness.
We're not planning at this time to take the kayaks with us when we leave in August for an extended adventure out west, but we will have bikes and we will have the hammock. I think we'll keep a similar "privacy" strategy. Except in the trailer, we can always just go for a walk too.
Maybe the trailer isn't as "exotic", but there are advantages vs life on a boat. :)
