I've been thinking about getting a portable generator. After carefully reviewing my power needs, I think I will be fine with a good battery supply .We have a TV (20 inches) and 2 small fans which can be powered by 12 volt battery. Does anyone here have a good advice on getting a good battery . We do not want to do a lot of maintenance so we prefer something that will be charged when we are driving . We need to have enough power 10 hours of continuous usage.thank you

I would suggest two maintenance batteries hooked in parallel and a 1200-1500 watt Inverter for the 120 volt items. That should take care of your requirements. That will also run a SMALL microwave for coffee water, etc, but not for extended cooking.

I use a 600WATT PSW Inverter to cover my home entertainment, WX radio, and emergency small items you need to have on.. etc...I have two drop cords from the inverter at a couple of locations in the trailer always Always ON...Roy Ken

Hi,If you want zero maintenance then AGM chemistry needs to be seriously considered. A single 8D would possibly meet your needs.

They last longer, take A LOT more abuse, can be mounted inside living areas, upside down or sideways, can be discharged lower without damage, etc. The advantages are too numerous to list. :BBattery Info

Hi,

If you want zero maintenance then AGM chemistry needs to be seriously considered. A single 8D would possibly meet your needs.

My "B" had two 120volt duplexs (one front and one read) and I changed them to fourplex. The added ones were yellow and the originals were white. The yellow ones are permanently connected to my 1200 watt Inverter. White for Shore and Generator and yellow for Inverter.
