Agreed. Ours won't go OUT while the engine is running (safety feature). However, they will come IN with the engine running. As I said, the extra available voltage at the motor really helps some times.
I can understand why they'd lock out slide extension with the engine running, but I'm not sure why they'd lock out slide retraction with the engine running. Ditto my leveling jacks. They won't lower with the engine running, but they will retract.
Hopefully the OP will let us know if he's found the problem.
