A few weeks ago I was passed by a caravan of very high end Class A units all towing matching enclosed trailers. It occurred to me that I have seen very few units like that in the various RV parks I have stayed at. As a matter of fact, there have been very few RV parks or even resorts I have stayed at that could have handled these big units and their trailers.Are the owners of these units just frequenting a small number of RV resorts that can handle their size? Where do the owners of these extra-big rigs find places to park when they travel?

They might stay at race tracks since what you described are just what the NASCAR drivers have....

We are at a KOA in Nashville and there are a number of sites here that accommodate those ~ there are some here now. There are a few parks we have been at across the country that can handle them. Some parks will take your trailer and store it somewhere on the property, but not in your site. Many parks will ask if you are towing a car or a trailer, etc. Many will have some option for you.

As noted, likely associated with NASCAR or racing in general. We were at Tom Johnson's RV in Concord, NC three weeks ago trading coaches (was there for 6 days) and saw a number of those rigs coming and going as there was a big NHRA drag race event going on. Some were in the RV park next to Tom Johnson's and others were parked in a huge lot next to the Zmax race track.

There are a number of parks out west that can handle them easily.

Never seen a triple tow- and I can't imagine that's safe-at all.
I tow a 28ft enclosed Race trailer all over--- 65 ft on the length and for the length police on here, don't ask ! Don't even know its back there unless I pull a hill. I've stayed at campgrounds all over with the trailer- Red Oaks in Bushnell-Fla. welcome's us when we arrive for a couple of weeks or so.
What's the big deal?

Just what states are you towing in that this hook-up is legal? I mean this is a triple tow,right? Just off hand,I don't think that it's legal here in Wa.

I drive a 39' Discovery and tow a car with a trailer for the atv. I use Trailerlife Navigation program and they usually tell you the length of the spaces. I travel mostly out west and have found a lot of parks that can accommodate my 70 ft "train". If not I just unhook the car,if only staying overnight, or if staying longer unhook the trailer too. No problem! Yes In most states out west my length is legal or close to legal and like another poster said if you are not doing anything stupid they will not stop you to check your length.

We pull an enclosed car trailer behind our motorhome. Not as big as the ones you describe, but our total length is about 60 ft. A useful reference I learned about on this forum is a directory called Big Rigs Best Bets (www.big-rigs-rv.com). The authors have personally visited all the campgrounds described and give specific site numbers and the maximum lengths they can handle. Check it out.

Probably Reba or some other rock stars tour buses. They don't stay where we do.

A common combination in the racing community is the hospitality center, a large luxurious motorcoach pulling a kitchen trailer. A similar combination is a crew support motorcoach (might include showers and bunks) pulling a kitchen.

Neither is used as a RV, in the recreational sense, they are moved without occupants from race site to race site, where they are set up for the people who will use them on site.

Moving the race cars, moving the on-track team members, are separate operations and schedules from moving these infield support vehicles. Race cars for the next race may be on the way to the next site while the current race is still in practice, and this week's cars will be hauled back to the shop after the race, to be rebuilt. Track personnel are on much tighter schedules, and will often move by chartered air, even if they have (in the case of drivers and management) personal "RVs" to live in at the track. Sometimes even the race cars move by air, depending on the distance to travel.

So "where do they stay?" Enroute, probably at truck stops, or motel parking lots, if the schedules are such that the drivers have time for, and need for, overnight stops between the sites where the vehicles are use.

For those that don't know NC law the total length for towing a car trailer is 90ft here if involved in motorsports----IE a car in the trailer. My combined length is 70ft and I have been all up and down the East Coast without a problem. Only stay in camp ground now and then but they so far have had the room.

And contrary to what someone said above most of the NASCAR teams and drivers here in NC have class A motor homes......its the drag racers that seem to be hooked on the toter homes.

I disagree. Most of the MH with big trailers around here are Hobbyist.
The NASCAR pro type rigs are semi truck based.
