Straight line stability of large vehicles is a function of alignment. Be sure the toe in is set to manufacturer's specs and that the front end components are tight. Keeping the front end properly greased is vital to preserving kingpins on gassers and ball joints/trunnions on DPs. On straight axle gassers, people complain about outer edge tire wear and alignment guys back off the toe in slightly to help with that. This will make a coach much less stable. Factory alignment values are calculated to take the vehicle's forward thrust on the steering wheels into account (makes them toe out). When they start pointing away from each other due to incorrect alignment settings or component wear, you get a coach that wanders and is more greatly affected by cross winds and passing trucks.
