Wife and I travel every summer on our Harley. We love it. We would like to enhance the experience by adding a way to load up the bike and travel to our destination allowing us to push to further destinations thanks to my wife being able to share driving responsibilities. We would also like to start camping instead of staying in hotels/motels. We do not need anything extravagant. We would like to have enough room for a couple people to join us. So here is the dilemma.Do we purchase a truck and buy a toy hauler/camper to pull behind it? Or, is a Class C motorhome the answer?We aren't sure what to do, so many options. A bit overwhelming. Hello, my opinion, if you going to ride when you get to your destination, I would go with a c plus a two bike trailer.

Both would be fine. Right now I think a C with a trailer that you could transport the bike, and other items to free up space.

A Class C with a trailer like One Of These would work out well. A small Class C would do just fine and still be big enough for a couple or two and would tow the Bikes too.I have a friend that does just that and really has a good time exploring on his Harley then having a nice base camp to come back to and have a meal,a warm bed then head out and do it again.

A 24' Class C and an enclosed trailer has worked for us for many years. Bike stays clean and dry and small motorhome enables us to attend rallies etc. without having to be concerned about space and fully self-contained. Ours technically can sleep six adults, but we have never had more than two. Then again ours is only 24' long. If you got a longer one with a bed in the back you should be good for four or more. We found that getting one with a slide makes a huge difference, especially if you go the smaller rather than larger route. Also find that the shorter one handles the extra load without a problem and handles very good even with the trailer attached.Hope this helps.

Thank you for sharing.Let me just add that if we went Class C motorhome we would want a trailer that could pull 2 bikes in case we had company to join us.I like the Haulmark low 7x12 v nose enclosed trailer. I would need a Class C that could comfortably pull one of those with 2 loaded baggers.

I clean my bike every day on the road while my wife is getting ready. Don't need water just need a nice quick detailer.

More power to you, whatever you come up with. I have always wanted to ride my '48 Indian Chief in scenic areas but never took the leap to tow a trailer, etc. I'm getting ready to sell now at 75.

yea, my Dad always said the only time a Harley should be clean is after a trip to the shop. I guess I took that to heart!!! Most time their not very clean when we are out traveling. most RV parks don't want you washing stuff, and the National parks don't usually have readily available water so they tend to be dirty anyway. One year we hit rain so bad they came clean after it stopped...

A lot of these beauties being mentioned are too big for the wife and I and more importantly, out of our price range lol.

You guys have some really nice setups.

Aluma makes excellent motorcycle trailers but I have never been a fan of my baby being outside in the elements when towed. Maybe I will reconsider because they are so light.

We went with a 31' class c since we wanted to stay out for months at a time. To save weight with the trailer we went with an all aluminum open trailer (only 550 lbs.) from Aluma. We've used both a single (MC10) and now have the double (MC210) trailer. We hauled a softtail and an Unltra classic for several years, now we have a Softtail and a Street glide on an MC210. Saves substantial weight for the trailer as compared to the big enclosed trailers.

We tried the Kendon first but it was almost impossible to get both bikes on at same time due to their size. Also required a different ramp because the Kendon ramp was way to small. Aluma have a nice wide, built in ramp and very easy to load/unload.

Works for us.

I too agree that a class C is your best option for 4 adults. Get a model like the new Minnie Winnebago 22R on the E350 chassis with V10 engine and you will have great mobility and towing capability for an enclosed trailer with 2 motor cycles. Just be sure the total trailer plus bikes weigh less than 5000 pounds as that is the limit of all E-series chassis as they typically have a 5000 pound hitch. If looking for a used equivalent "C", the short Coachman Freelander has been made for a number of years. You might be able to find a used one cheap. Just watch for water leaks as entry level rigs can have such problems with age. Some time ago the hitches were limited to 3500 pounds so watch out when looking at much older rigs. Also be aware of rusted hitches.

We rode a bike for years but wanted to stop staying in motels, also. We bought a Class C 2014 Jayco Greyhawk 31FK this summer. Already had a Kendon stand-up bike trailer which will pull easily behind the Greyhawk with the Honda Shadow (VT1100C2) on it.
