Looking at Forester 2701DS

After a great deal of research and analyzing, we like the Forester 2701DS. It may be just a little too long for our driveway and may have to work at getting into it's spot.
We wanted the dinette on the passenger and a sofa. This model has it flip-flopped but will work.
It's loaded with lot's of bells and whistles and has 2 slides.
This will be our second motorhome. Our Minnie has served us well for 12 years but I want to get off the cabover bunk before I have a problem. Time for a new one.
There are so many horror stories after spending so much money. Poor quality and service issues makes one question their decision.
Any comments on this model, the Forester line or Forest River in general before we move forward?

I am concerned about warranty work. One dealer is 18 miles away, and has fully loaded unit priced a little over our budget. The other is 45 miles away and over an hour driving plus traffic. They have more units in our price range. Their service dept ihas terrible reviews.
The closer dealer won't do warranty work mor service unless sold by them.

I bought out of state (9 hour drive away), because of price and floor-model available & particular floor plan being discontinued.

I did some research and there is a non-selling RV center that supports factory warranty work in my area (they happen to be top-notch also, over the dealers).

With clear communication Forest River approved service by a the service center.

  • We are year and half, into owning a FR Sunseeker.

    Purchased new.

Few warranty follow-up items (back up camera died, minor slide adjustment) both covered through Forest River -even with using a non-selling service center. Forest River worked well with us.

    39 Trips - 16,300 miles.

    Solid Rig.

    ++'s for us:

    Hard fiberglass roof
Interiors -Like the fit & finish, colors, and lots of cabinet space.
    Price point -descent & availability.

Spend some time here, looking for feedback on particular models or types. What also impressed us, was factory reps availability through the forum, supporting customer satisfaction.

Forester is a fancier Sunseeker: Lower half painted, LED lighting, hidden hinges, (some of the standard perks over sunseeker), others I can't think of currently.

    Good luck!
