I'd like for the conversion to be as stealthy as possible without really looking like an RV. I'm planning on keeping costs down by avoiding RV sites and/or campground parking. For the 1st couple months I'm hoping to park/live on the streets of San Francisco.
Parking/living on the streets of San Francisco may not be that easy. There have been some threads touching on stealth camping in urban areas, mostly for shorter durations, IIRC, and my sense is that you have to keep moving & be lucky to avoid getting ticketed, on top of finding somewhere to dump your tanks and/or recharge your batteries. Others may have more direct knowledge, but perhaps the OP would be better off being someplace with permission.
