Yes, you probably do have the 'dredded bar'. I don't know of any hide-a-bed that doesn't...and when two sleep on it they roll to the middle...I was going to try the dream mattress mentioned previously, but it's too $$$ at the moment...so I may give Meme's idea a try and order the bed boards.
