Gary, first issue is that the Directv HD channels are on a different satellite. You'll have to have DTV's HD receiver to decode the signal. In my search I found the 32" to be the maximum size that can be made to fit in the existing cabinet providing IMHO the most stable and safest configuration.
I use a tripod with a triple LNB if staying more that 1 day and get all my HD channels as I'll lock on to sats 101, 110 and 119. If it's just overnight, I switch an A/B switch I added to select the Dome and get my standard def programming. BTW, I removed my old CRT tv with myself and a teenage neighbor. Have fun!
