The only cables behind the tv is a single power cord and a single coax to rear of tv. I think you can see that in one of my pictures? As I had to go to the controller box to switch between components, I just eliminated that step and connected VHS coposite to LCD, DVD to component at LCD, Directv HD receiver to HDMI on LCD, I hope this sorta explains it. As HDMI has digital audio and video in one cable i didn't need to worry about a seperate audio connection for it but all the others require audio. I went with digital coax for my DVD player. All the audio connections are made at the new A/V Receiver (Onkyo).
