I had the same issue with the slide. I'll call the bolts shear pins as I believe they were designed to break before any further damage can occur. I was at home when this happened and I fixed it temporarily as Bricot did and then ordered the parts through Power Gear. I also ordered extras just in case.
I think that over time they just give up after years of not quite level operation putting extra strain on the bar. I was surprised that it was a pretty easy fix, even for me.
