Had to replace the roller tube on my power awning due to it being bowed from collecting water during a heavy rain. The motor would "stall" as it tried to roll in the awning and the bent section put additional stress on the motor. Unless the coach is perfectly level or down at the rear, the auto-dump feature of the awning doesn't get rid of the water and the roller will bow in the middle. I punched a hole in the fabric at the middle of t't fall outhe roller and about 4" in and put in a grommet. The hole is 3/8". Had a heavy rain last night and the water drained thru the hole and phe bolt canrevented any accumulation.
Also had the same shear-bolt problem and replaced with a schedule 8 bolt from local hardware store. Also wrapped the bolt and nut with duct tape so if the nut end shears again the bolt can't fall out.
