- Rich___Cheri_ExplorerHad a mouse problem and solved it by installing sonic pest repellers in strategic locations to prevent entry. I finally installed 2 sonic pest repellers to blanket the underside of the RV pad. No mouse problems since. This solution does require that you have an AC power source for the devices.
- LobstahExplorerIt IS that season. I had one fail on a passengerside box 2wks ago. I haven't replaced it yet, I just removed it because if was almost frozen. Door opens great without it, and the remaining strut has more than enough pressure to hold the door up, but...it's on the "list".
We also discovered 2wks ago while preparing for the first trip of the season that Micky (and presumbably Minnie) had decided to use OUR vacation home as THEIR vacation home over the winter.
How do you folks keep these little buggars OUT??? - kemdignamExplorerYes, you are correct. It is the 'struts' that I need. I could not remember what they were called!
I was just trying to avoid a trip down to the RV while I had my Camping World order up. ;)
Thanks again! - Fyr_guyExplorerKaren, as Lobstah said, your looking for "struts" You'll need to take one off or squat down and try to see the model # off it and do a search. I recently replaced the entrance door strut and was surprised that it wasn't found at an auto parts store and had to go to an RV supply house. Good luck.
- LobstahExplorerKaren,
I don't think you want the hinge, I think you want the hydraulic piston that sits on either side of the door. Don't know the part number, but the pistons are pretty commonly available through parts stores and online. You may want to take one off and go to your local auto parts store. They're commonly used on back doors for almost all SUVs these days.
Jim - LobstahExplorerCathy,
For tires, I've heard some folks have had good experience with Camping World. In other research, there is a wide variety of pricing on even the same tire, so do your due diligence. Tires have a DOT code on the tire, which among other things denotes the date of manufacture. Many places won't service a tire that's more than 6yrs old, so if you buy a new tire that's already 2yrs old coming off the rack, well...you get the idea.
Shop around, call the truck places, tire shops, etc...and go from there.
Good luck, and tell us what you find!
Jim - kemdignamExplorerDoes anyone know the make/model of the bay door hinges for an '06 Fleetwood Pace Arrow? The bay door just behind the entrance droops and does not stay open so I want to order a replacement.
Thanks in advance!
Karen - Cathy_JohansenExplorerTire replacement.....
We own a 2004 Pace Arrow 37C.
This is the first time I will be replacing tires on a M/H. Any help or suggestions on brands, or what type store to purchase them. I heard Costco and truck tire stores but I would prefer to hear it from a M/H owner.
I live in Glendale AZ if anyone has had some luck in that area it would be helpful too.
Thanks - LobstahExplorerI'm going to be boondocking for the weekend...first trip out this season. I've flushed my water system, filled my hot water heater and tested it, ran my genset for 1/2hr no problem.
In my overhead cabinet directly above my main entrance, on the left hand side, I have two battery disconnect switches, Aux and Main. My main fear, of course, is killing the batts during the weekend. So my plan is to disconnect the Main when we get there. Then when Aux gets low, I can start the coach, and start the genset, then reconnect Main and let everything charge.
Will this plan work? LOL
Jim - LobstahExplorerOk...in the process of finding the manual for my fridge, so I could identify the model number so I could find a replacement icemaker valve...lol...I discovered a small booklet titled "WFCO Installation and User's Manual" for a power converter/chager. And yes, it's located directly above my propane tank. Pretty sketchy manual, deals only with installation.
From what I can determine in the manual, this is a charger only, not an inverter. Anyone else have this same converter?
Jim
