Wow, I cannot believe some of the answers this guy got. People He is looking to drive a CLASS A, 45 rig on the west coast, he is looking to get a CLASS B LICENSE in MD as he believes he will need it in CA. If his rig was locensed in say NJ and he was a NJ resident, he would not need a special license unless he moved to and took up residence in CA. Since he is in MD and MD does require a CLASS B LICENSE, he will need it to drive a CLASS A Motorhome in CA. I have no idea if the OP is a currently skilled driver looking for some practice to get his license or if he has never driven any thing bigger than a Smart Car. The attitude shown him in some of the posts really represents RVers very poorly. I am glad a few of my fellow RVers read and understood the plain English request and responded appropriately. To a few others of you, I really hop I never find myself in a CG with you.
