We like our 27 foot 2004 Tioga 26Q. Not perfect, not the best quality but the interior and storage area suits us and drive train is good. We have used it for cross country touring, local camping and day trips to local parks with our two dogs. Has rear bedroom, dinette makes into a bed, also has overhead bed. We bought ours new at a good price in late 2003. I had to have the roof AC, fridge and awning fabric replaced at around the ten year old point. The water heater, furnace, stove, and microwave are still working. I replaced the converter/ charger, engine starting and house batteries and fresh water pump at about the same time. You might have problems getting a loan to buy an older rig. Have the engine cooling system checked and serviced and brake system flushed and serviced as needed. Tires become unsafe if over 5-6 years old by date codes imprinted on tires. Roof needs periodic resealing around vents, etc. Check used rigs carefully for any signs of roof leaks, i.e. mold/dry rot, ceiling stains damage around window openings, etc.
Motor homing is an expensive hobby whether you buy new, fairly new or older.I would advise saving your money until you can afford a 3 or 4 year old rig that is fully ready for the "open road" in terms of safety and comfort.
