Update: Well, Monday, we did the deal. Drove the Georgetown up to Ashland, Kentucky Sunday, spent the night there, then Monday traded in the Georgetown, and drove off with our new Newmar coach.
Took nearly all day, between going through, testing out, and trying to understand all the systems the Newmar has, signing all the papers, moving all our stuff from the Georgetown over into the Newmar, then finally moving the towbar over and setting up the wiring for towing our car with the Newmar.
This thing drives soooo much nicer than the Georgetown! Engine is much quieter, but as I said before, when it does get loud, it sounds cool, with that big block v8 growl. Just a much more relaxing drive, with how quiet it is and how it doesn't roll and bounce near as much as our Georgetown did. Really enjoy driving it. The shorter length made it very easy to back into the campsite, too.
Going to take a while to get used to everything the Newmar has that we've never had before - Xantrex inverter/converter, residential refrigerator with icemaker, 6 coach/house battery setup, fantastic fans in living room and bathroom that allow for really cool airflow, power management system, holding tank sensors on outside of tank so they don't get dirty and you can actually trust them, much nicer hydraulic jack system (equalizer)that can be controlled via a phone app, power awning that can also be controlled by a phone app....I could go on and on, but we are really, really happy with the new coach, and looking forward to years and years of fun camping trips with it.
When we left the dealership Monday, we went straight to a campground near Georgetown, KY, for a 'shakedown' trip. Will be here in Georgetown all week, and are loving it out here - went to the Ark encounter yesterday. Brother in law and his family live not far from here and will be joining us later this week. We won't head back home until the weekend.
This coach is basically everything I learned over the years that I'd want in the next one. It is a really good fresh start, too, given all that has changed and turned completely upside down with life these last few years, haha!
I have updated signature, but the picture linked to in signature is still to the old rig. Still working on updating that part. Will post pictures, too, once I find a good place/way to host such pictures.
