Looking to downsize

My DW and I are looking to downsize from our Class A to some kind of smaller Class B. Here are the things that are important.

China Bowl Pot, Sink and Shower.
TV/Entertainment Area
Stove/Sink/Fridge
Basement storage with slam lock doors
Queen sized bed

Thoughts??

  • I think you'll be hard pressed to get all of that in one vehicle. We wanted s dry bath and liked the slide of one model of the Winnebago Era line, but decided the slide took up too much space when in. We settled on a wet bath and that allowed us a bigger fridge, a king-sized bed we can leave made up in the rear, and a nice sized storage "basement" area under the bed with a sliding tray. I also had room to mount a tube for the slinky up under one side of the bed.

In general it is all about trade offs because there is only so much space available.

  • Have you looked at any Bs? Your wish list is impossible or nearly so.
  • I'm not really sure what's available so I can't say. Ideally, we would like a separate shower and bath but I suppose that's a lot to hope for with the class B.
  • New or used?

The new Class B's (Sprinter or Promaster) don't even have outside bins... no less anything resembling a "basement" with any kind of lock.

Are you expecting a separate shower? Nearly all are wet baths.

You may need to look at the small Class C rigs like Leisure Travel. (24-25 feet)
