Loose Injector
Has any one heard of the Cummins 8.3 ISC having a loose injector causing combustion products to enter the return fuel going back to the main tank and causing the fuel to turn black, then clogging filt...

A little added info.
When the fuel return line from the lift pump to the tank, is removed and a line connected to the lift pump and routed to a clean barrel. then the supply line from the contaminated tank to the lift pump is removed and replaced with a hose from a clean source of fuel. and then the lift pump operated by turning on the key. it will run dirty fuel until the engine fuel system cleans up. Knowing we have clean fuel all through the engine system, we started the engine and 30 seconds later we get black fuel.
The CAPS fuel system has oil and fuel in the high pressure engine driven pump, but if they are allowed to mix, the fuel pressure is way high, and always goes to the oil side not the reverse. Your oil level will rise. This engine this does not happen.
