Low point drain

Winterizing our new to us 2008 fourwinds chateau citation 29g. Have drained hot water heater, turned bypass, and drained fresh water tank. Going to town to buy cyphone hose to hook to water pump and pump RV antifreeze through. Have also turned line so antifreeze won't go back into fresh water tank. Have been looking but haven't seen another low point drain to open. I guess it won't matter as long as I pump antifreeze out through all of the lines. Just thought someone might know if there is one.

  • Like AJR posted, mine are in same location. The valves are accessed inside a storage bay.
  • (concord 05) Your post jarred my brain. I winterized last week and never even thought about the low point drains.. On every other RV I've had they were easy to spot but I've been under this one a number of times and never seen them??? So this afternoon I crawled under there again AND found one of them!! If your layout is like mine (sink on the driver's side just behind the wheel well) then you will see the small drain pipe behind the rear wheel well.. it only sticks out about an inch. Only one of the two drain pipes is visible.. I think the other is hidden above a small storage compartment.
To get at them you need to pull off the grill under the cupboard door that is below the sink. You can also see one of them if you pull the drawer(s) out.. but you will need a flashlight. I don't think pulling the drain valve is really necessary since there is no water in the end, like there would be with the other type which has a drain cap. These do not have that.. they only allow water to drain out of the line that is blown out or that has anti-freeze in it. I have taken some pictures but don't know how to post them on here. Send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will be happy to forward them to you.
  • Mine are right behind the rear tire mud flap passenger side. They are not visible if you just scan the bottom of the vehicle. You have to look up behind the mud flap to see them. Thor was kind enough to email me the plumbing diagram. That is how I found them.
  • On our 2004 Fleetwood Tioga 26Q the low point hot and cold water drain valves are located behind an inspection panel in the outside wall of the bathroom. Hard to reach and hard to operate, must be turned off completely after draining or pump will cycle on and off.
As said, two tubes protrude under the rig right beneath location of valves.
  • Mine has three 1/2" tubes that empty right on top of the propane tank.

This ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ is the best advice you could get. Every RV has them in a different location. Crawl under and look for 2 rather small (1/2 inch-ish) poly tubes sticking down through the floor. A single larger tube (1 or 1&1/2 inch-ish) is the fresh water tank drain.
