Sounds like it's out of gas. So it's prolly not gas you smell. Check the fridge for mold, or look else where, and remember. The propane detector is at the floor for a reason. Propane does not rise. It sinks. It is heavier than air. So it is doubtfull you would smell it any way, unless the RV was full of propane, or you were laying on the floor.
