Macerator Pump

I'm thinking about buying a macerator pump to empty my waste tanks when the coach is in the barn and would like some thoughts on this subject.

As said, the pump would only be used when needed after an outing or for maintenance. My plan would be to have the discharge hose coiled on brackets inside and outside the rear wall and attach to the septic tank (~20') and coach as needed.

Any advice on the the pump, hose, and etc would be appreciated. It looks like I can get everything for less that $300.00 or so. Still need to get 12VDC power to the water bay but that should be small thing.

    why limit its use to only while it is in the barn. much handier to use than a stinky slinky when on the road.

    I've been using the Sani-Con system for many years and love the concept. When you provide 12 VDC to the pump be sure to use a heavy gauge wire to match the amp draw of the pump you select and protect the circuit with a matched fuse.

    I have the Sani-con unit now sold by Thetford, hardwired in my utility bay. Am currently in my son and d-i-l's yard with a 100 foot 1" irrigation connected to the end of my 20' connection. Draining grey through open valve and pumping black every few days. Have been doing this here for a month at a time for a long time. We use it on the road all the time even when a stinky slinky will work, it is just cleaner and easier to handle from day to day.

    That's what I have. 3 years, no issues.

    My new 29.2 has a built in macerator and it's nice. I installed a remote control switch so I can "dump" at will without getting out of my chair. :)

    I have hardwired sancon in by wet bay. I only use it when necessary. Otherwise I use stinky slinky because the pump does not empty the tank as fast and residue can built up and cause problems. Even with the black tank flush the macerator does not evacuate the tank as well as the stinky slinky.
    When I do use the macerator on a trip I flush the tank when possible using the gravity feed standard sewer hose.
    The macerator does have its purpose.

    Our Monaco came with the permanent mounted sani-con system, and also with a techma macerating toilet.

    I will never ever ever go back to a conventional slinky.

    One thing though, I kinda think they are a pair. With the techma, all solids are ground up and mixed with water before landing in the black tank. And then the sanicon pumps it out. Fast, simple, clean. The exiting waste doesn't even smell bad...

    I did have to rebuild the sanicon pump once, it was no where near as ugly a job as I feared it would be, and the pump works much better with the new impeller.

    This is what I found on our 1972 conversion when I found it.
    The plumbing was badly corroded, but the pump outlet was under the center of coach belly.
