Just to follow up....talked to Magnum and they had me do some diagnostics using the remote. The temp in the transistors (FET board) is way too high (90C)even though my fans are running full blast and the ambient temp (77F)in the compartment is OK. So they say I need to have that board replaced. In the meantime until I can get back home and to a shop, my little 6 amp external charger seems to be holding the batteries at 12.2 V.
