When several (?) of us have similar failures, I don't think it's our batteries.
When my MS2012 failed I got "Over voltage" fault, a puff of smoke, then inverter death. Shipped it off to Magnum and they replaced FETs and control board & shipped it back.
BTW, I've kept the 12-year-old Freedom 485 that I replaced. It always works.
