  • The record speed GMC did not get the drive train replaced. It still have tne TH425 and front wheel drive. Some say it had a 454, but that is very hard to do. The only engines that fit are Toros and Eldos, anything else takes major design changes.

The rear spoiler was just for the press and it was removed before the final runs.

He might have done better than 103, but it wouldn't shift out of second. <= That is not a joke.

  • Yeah 3.5 seconds is a lot of claim. Racing motorcycles (sport bikes) I remember in the mid 90's - 900cc's would go 0-60 in 2.8 seconds. That's a big claim, but still.... It may be true... LOL!!!! Awesome.

I agree that was good... Look up the two fastest Motor Homes (one is in the US) in the World. The US one is a retrofitted GM motor home.. I think the other one was custom made for speed. But the US one is "Not your grandfather's Motor Home" re-worked from a standard GM, still has the stadard GM body, custom paint job, rear spoiler,,, Replaced the engine and drive train.. Set the world's RV speed record with two gears to spare so it may have re-captured it by now.

Gotta love it. A $30,000.00 motor in a rv worth 3k.

Yep. It's like the people who buy a $500.00 truck and then spend $2000.00 for wheels and tires. :)
  • A couple of questions spring immediately to mind:
    1. How long is that engine going to last?
    and
    2. How many gallons to the mile?

    But still, it is impressive.
I would not want one, but it is impressive.
