Many Questions

The 1st Question : Is Mobile Traveler company still in business ? I could not find any info on the company to get diagrams on the working systems in it. Such as electrical, plumbing, structure of how it is built. I have done what I could so far, motor homes are not the multi-million dollar structures I'm used too.
  • Thank you Mr. Colie, I have several hundred photos of the work I have done to it on Google photos and have to do a lot of sorting will be putting more pix up on my website linked in my signature below. Notes are few but will take more.
  • Sleepy,

My GMC is not my first RV. They are almost alone in information available, but do not be jealous just take the time to do this:
Get the service manual for the chassis.

Get a loose leaf notebook and start today.
Make a page of notes about what you find that was added under the hood and elsewhere to that chassis.
Collect the manufacturer and model of all the stuff inside. Now, get on the web a find everything you can about that stuff download it, print it, punch it and put it in the note book.
Early on, start with the AC breaker box. If the breakers aren't labeled and clear, identify what each does.
Then, do the same with DC house power fuses. The pages for both of these in your notebook will save you immense amounts of grief when you need them. You will need them.
When you are working on things, make pictures (take pictures) and notes about what you find.

We have had this coach only 13 years. I recently had to go back to something I had done when we first owned it. I'm glad I had notes. I may be retired, but I am not that old.

Oh!, I guess I should have mentioned a few things about make and model of equipment.

    1986 Ford E-350 - 24 ft ? - 1987 Fiberglass body - 460 C.I. motor - Brand new Edilbrook 4 barrow Carb - Even Flow Headers - 8500 gross wht.
Top speed 90mph on interstate hwy. Had to see how fast! could have done more.

Thanks for the info on Mobile traveler Company. The RV has only 34K on it, sat in Texas desert for most of it's life. I have a walk around video on my website, and a few pictures. I want to make it my home more than a recreational vehicle. Will travel sometimes. I'll try to find those threads you mentioned and read up.

    Jim, welcome to RV.NET.
Put your RV information in your profile or signature. Otherwise you will need to put up every time you start a post.

  • You will get better responses IF you would post Year/Make/Model of your RV

RVs have SAME 120V AC System as multi-million dollar structures (even those middle income ones too)
RVs have 12V DC System which is not a complicated scheme
    RVs use similar appliances etc
And many RV MFGs don't have/provide plumbing/electrical diagrams.

And NO---Mobile Traveler is no long in business (1971-1988)

Existing since the beginning of the 1970s, Mobile Traveler originally operated as a company that built Class C motorhomes. Initially utilizing the Dodge van as a base for their self-contained motorhomes that can sleep up to six occupants, Mobile Traveler products would later be built also on a Chevrolet and Ford chassis. Mobile Traveler produced of travel trailers during the 1985 and would manufacture 22-foot to 40-foot fifth wheel trailers from 1987 to 1988.
