That's not a GPS. My point was several methods exist to do this on a tablet or PC. Not on a GPS and it should.

If you don't like the route given you only have 2 options; drive where you want until the re-calculation finally falls in line, or create several small destinations to force the route you want. This can be tricky because one of your points might accidentally fall in a shopping center or side street. Often the route proposed by a GPS is not the best. That said I usually "plan" my route in MapQuest, and replicate it on my Garmin DZL. (which btw is the best GPS I have found for Rv's).

How can I incorporate my POI's that I use with my garmin? I played around with copilot but didn't see a poi for campgrounds nor a way to import my poi's I have saved up. Thanks.

I bought Copilot USA specifically for the clearance feature. It works well on my Note II.
I also like that it works off-line in the boonies and is not draining my battery constantly downloading info.

I use Copilot Life now for two years and like it a lot. I can set it for an RV or a car . It helped me twice to get from Wisconsin to Florida and back, and got me to both the east and the west coast without any problem.

I have it running on a 10.1" Samsung Galaxy Tab, and can thus see all the road details very well!

We use S&T 2013 with the POI's from the Discovery Forum. Our rig is 13.1 Ft height, so this makes it comfortable for us.

We also connect it to the GPS receiver while we travel, so whoever is the Co-Pilot can check the progress. This also is important while traveling in a new city. This way the driver can keep their concentration on driving and NOT on anything else, as the co-pilot can call out directions ahead of time.

We also use a GPS (in-dash) but we use it as a gauge for how far for the driver.

Recently we are trying the Good Sam Trip Planner again, but only as a planner, we will still use S&T as the primary unit.

With the POI file, we find it has most of everything we need for places.

In traveling we will look ahead for fuel stations using GasBuddy. Once we see something worth while we use use the Satellite View on any one of the internet Map Sources to scout it out.

Smart Phone are good, but nothing beats the screen size of a laptop.

RV Roadtrip Navigator 2012. This is the Trailer life version and is great for navigating and campgrounds. Shows you where the campgrounds on your route are and give a lot of info on the park. I have streets and trips and use Navigator to plan and then convert it to streets to load to the GPS. DON'T buy the newer 2013 or newer version, the company parted ways with Trailer life after the 2012 version and the newer versions don't contain much info on the campgrounds. Petty much just a mapping program.

We use a Garmin 7 inch 760 dsel. Easy to use, unlimited map updates with traffic conditions in major metro areas.
