Maxx Air vent fan (UPDATED WITH NEW INFO)
Somebody tell me exactly how this Maxx Air vent is supposed to work. Right now, I can manually crank the lid open and turn the speed to any of the three speeds and I can also control when it comes on...

That's a Fantastic Vent, not a Maxxfan. I would guess the installer just hooked it to a simple wall switch- turn it off and the vent has no power to close.
It may or may not open and close with the temp sensor.
It may or may not open and close with the temp sensor.
