I had the MaxxAir cover over the vents on my Class C and truck camper, I don't have one on my Pleasure-way Lexor and I don't see them on van conversion pics. Is there any reason not to put one on my van? Why don't I see them class B vans? Here is the one I am looking at putting over my fantastic fan vent cover - MaxxAir Thoughts?

Putting on a Maxx Air cover is always a good idea, I use This One over my Fantastic Fan, I like its lower contour and it is made for high volume fans.

I would just guess that people may find it to be too noticeable. Some people in regular vans dont want to be noticed as they like to be "stealth" and camp where it's illegal. Go to an RV store and ask to take one out and put it up there and stand back and look at it. I like them on my 5er because they protect my flimsy lids from tree branches (12' 10") and let me have the vents open in the rain. They are much sturdier than the vent lid and and help with uv damage on the lid. If we had a bad wind or hail storm I think they would hold up much better than the vent lid.

The MaxxAir fan is standard on the Advanced RV Class B. I don't think it has anything to do with stealthiness. It is just much better than a Fantastic Fan and I would have to assume it might cost more. In a competitive situation Fantastic Fan is most likely what you are going to get.With MaxxAir the cover is is integral with the fan. When we had the Fantastic Fan the rain sensor often got confused in high humidity dew situations and if you camp a lot on the coast expect the the mechanism plunger device to corrode and fail. Our MaxxAir is a 10 speed remote control model and the first thing I noticed was it was a lot quieter than the Fantastic Fan.The roof hole is the same 14" square I believe so I would think the fans could be interchanged.

Watch this video from Fantastic Vent and you may want to use their vent cover instead of some other brand that will restrict air flow.Fantastic Vent cover air flow demo.
