I can share with you when we left the Sierra Foothills just over 10 years ago, our motorhome registration fees were the only a small part of our savings. Electric & Natural Gas cost were half. Registration fees & insurance was about 2/3 of what California charged. One of the biggest savings was home insurance, California home insurance was more than double because of earthquake insurance. Property taxes are same per unit cost but because base price/appraised value is less than California the amount paid each year is less. Bottom line, we saved money leaving the Golden State! Now we keep more of our Gold!
