Love bugs emit a form of acid when they die. Squished on the front of your coach the acid will try to eat into whatever surface they're on. In the OPs case, it appears the plastic shield on the front of his coach was compromised. The acid from the bugs, coupled with the Florida humidity plays havoc with the plastic shield especially if it was compromised to begin with. When traveling from Texas to Florida or anywhere in between, it's imperative that they are washed off as soon as you stop for the night. We have yet to find a campground that frowns on you doing just that. If you wait a day or two, you may find yourself it the same predicament as the OP....Dennis
