I keep a diary - none of this fancy electronic stuff seems to measure properly. For 2011, 13886 miles averaged 16.9 mpg at an average cost of 4.35 per US gal. For 2012, 10753 miles averaged 14.9 mpg at an average cost of $3.28 per US gal. The 2011 year reflected our trip to Newfoundland and the high price of Canadian fuel. 2012 reflected stiff head winds going east in early June and again going west in September, the latter being expected with the prevailing weather from the southwest. The Canadian and US Dollar were at parity for my purposes.
