I have a MH with a 10k hitch that can only tow 5000 lbs. My understanding is the 3000 allison transmission costs a LOT more than the 2500 on my mh. I wish I had the 3000, but I got what I paid for.
Sales people are good at sales not technical issues. I have two siblings in sales. I think many sales people get used to not telling the truth.
