My question is,, are you talking about tongue weight? or towing weight. Can I tow a 10,000 trailer with 1000 LBS tongue weight? or are you taking about tare weight? I am a little confused.
I am talking about about allowable towing weight which GCWR (Gross Combined Vehicle Weight) minus actual vehicle weight as loaded at the time.
The best tow rating I can find in something under $200k is the new Four Winds/Chateau Super C. It has a GCWR of 35,000lbs and a Gross Vehicle Weight Rating of 19,500lbs, giving it a theoretical capacity of 15,500lbs or the hitch/frame rating whichever is less. I would be reluctant to go over 10,000lbs with it. I would seriously consider one of those if I could find one for sale but apparently production has not taken off yet. Based on what I know of the rig so far my main reservation is that the Ford diesel still has some cab off repairs. I would wager that taking the cab off of a Super C would be challenging and dropping the diesel out the bottom would not be fun either.
