No the Hilux's diesels are not slow by any means. They have the same capacity diesel as the Sprinter and are much smaller.
I've wondered what Honda would be able to do if they made a chassis. With their generator technology, top tier hybrid expertise, and decades of engine knowledge, they would be interesting contenders
Honda has only built cars outside NA and far as I know no Truck or Van designs.
