You are very lucky as I've had far worse door dings on my car.
Still sucks that someone left it like that. Could have been much worse. When we used to store at lot I was always amazed one of my travel trailers never got broken into or damaged. Once we got the motorhome I found a way to store it at our home and rest much easier.
PS I think the cops would be laughing at you once you stepped out after reporting this. They won't even show up for an accident on any private property unless someone is killed in these parts.
