Delamination will kill a MH faster than a mechanical failure. Most are laminated, a few are not. (Holiday Rambler/Monaco, Newmar, Travel Supreme/Entegra come to mind) I would be hard pressed to even consider a laminated coach. I've seen way too many coming unglued - literally.
Walk around a typical campground and look at a 10 year old laminated unit vs a 10 year old hung wall built coach. We did that on a recent trip to Niagara Falls and it was telling.
As far as chassis and power train go, none of them are bad by any stretch. We've owned both Freightliner and Spartan, both have served us well. We've owned both Cat and Cummins, both have served us well. Look more at the torque number than the HP number, as torque is what does the work. A 300HP/600lb/ft vs a 300HP/950lb/ft will not perform the same in the mountains. When it comes to torque, more is better.
One unique feature only Newmar and Newell are using is Comfort Drive. This is a real game changer very few know about. All I can say is after 27,000+ miles with it I doubt I'd ever be without it. We currently have 7 vehicles with plates on them in our "fleet", our MH is probably my favorite to drive.
