Ray,
One test drive doesn't even begin to tell the story, and I think that's why the market hasn't demanded it more widely yet. Put 2,000 miles on a MH with CD and you'll know what I mean.
You're not alone either; in a recent test (by either FMCA or Motorhome magazine, don't remember), the author stated it didn't make any difference in gusty winds. I can 100% promise you it DOES have an effect in gusty winds. It doesn't have the self-centering effect as it does with road crown or steady side winds, but it does very effectively stabilize the wheel with little to no effort.
All I can say is talk to someone who actually owns it. You'd be hard pressed to find someone who didn't see the difference it makes.
Apparently Newell thought so too. As soon as the Newmar exclusive contract ended Newell added it to their line, and I'm pretty sure they already had a good power steering.
You are probably right Bruce. I just test drove for about ten miles and honestly I could not tell any difference. But like you said to drive a couple of thousand miles a person could tell the difference.
I believe I read somewhere that Freightliner chassis are installing the Comfort Drive on their chassis.
