Now that I am starting to look, I see that there are a lot of low mileage units available for far less than I expected. So, with that said. What issues do I need to be aware of, and reasons not to purchase a unit as listed below. Or a unit that is of this age range.
Thanks for the info.
Ambassador, 06, 32,000 miles 330 cummins, model 38PDQ, 39'5", 4 slides $84K
40' 2004 Allegro Bus By Tiffin 400hp Cummins w/3 Slides $90K, 65K miles
40' 2002 American Eagle By Fleetwood 400hp Cummins w/2 Slides $87K, 36K miles
I can't comment on the Ambassador, but be aware that Tiffin has had some major problems with roof cracks, rotting wet bays, and slide out issues. Yes, you can get those fixed at the factory.....if you are willing to wait for it. Some have stayed in Red Bay, AL for as much as 75 days awaiting repairs. For the best line on Tiffins and the particular year you are looking at, check out the Tiffin RV Forum and go through the old posts regarding the year and model you are looking at. It is possible that particular year and model are not ones affected by the problems.
American has always had a very good reputation and I would rank over the Tiffin. From what I have seen, they stand behind their product.
For bunk models you are probably looking at rigs from 2008 on up. I know Forest River started about then with the Berkshire and Tiffin was right around that time with bunks in the Allegro and later in the Phaeton.
