We don't have a TV in our bedroom, and it's sort of hard for both my wife and I to watch it up front while in the bed. So we wanted to mount a small TV back there. There is already a coaxial jack for it so the hardest part is just to actually figure out how to mount it.What is the typical way to do this? Just a normal TV Mount into the wall or is there something special. Obviously I don't want to damage the wall and Don't want the TV to fall.There is a small stand where a TV was meant to go already built in as well. Not sure if I'm supposed to mount it to that. It's sort of small and in an odd place so I was thinking about not using it.Any suggestions?

We used the tie downs below to hold a 19" flat screen on a stand in our last fifth wheel for about 4 years with no problems. Most of todays TVs are very light and come with a sturdy stand. I mounted mine on a moveable arm attached to the metal frame. There is an AC outlet, and a DC outlet as well as a coaxial connection right there for this purpose. I do not however travel with the television hanging, I lift it off the swivel and set it on the bed. It only takes a minute to reconnect when we arrive at our destination.

I'm in the process of changing out my bedroom TV now. I just removed a high cab'nt door at the end of the bed and am making a plywood flat face in place of the door to mount a 29" LED Vizio. I'm using a Sanus wall/tilt mount to hang the TV. The TV weighs just 13# so I don't think I have to worry about it falling down when I travel. The coaxial cable and Power cord can be routed thru a hole in the side of the cabn't to the existing TV Cabn't. It has taken a lot of research & the RV forum's has been a lot of help w/ this project.

In our previous rig, the bedroom had a cabinet for the old boxy style tv. There wasn't a tv in there so we used the cabinet for storage. DH put a swivel side mount up that held a 19" tv. It was easy to put the tv up. I used it at home for watching in the kitchen or we'd take the tv out on the deck. The new flat screens make it easy for multi use. the tv cable was inside the cabinet so DH drilled a hole to run the cable & elec through to the tv. It was hidden by the mount so it all looked tidy. Sorry, no pics - we traded the rig in this past August.

Find a stud close to the receptacle and mount a swivel mount on the wall for a flat screen, take it down when you travel.

you ddn't mention the year of your RV, if it is even a couple years into the "age of the flatscreens" there is probably reinforcement built into the wall.
Only the manufacturer knows for sure.

There is a built in TV stand int he corner where the hookup is. It's pretty small I'm going to see how much space I have, but I didn't know how I was supposed to secure the TV to it.

I think the adhesive straps mentioned earlier in the thread will do the trick assuming there is enough space in that corner for a tv.

I would think that, if the manufacturer provided power and a cable hookup for a bedroom TV, they also provided some reinforcement in the wall to support it. You might try checking the wall with a studfinder to see if it see's anything, checking the manuals for any info on an optional bedroom TV, or calling the manufacturers helpline and asking them.

I have seen projection TV's in moho with screen coming down in front and projector on ceiling about mid way in lounge. Not bad when it is darker.

I took a cupboard door off and made a mount for the TV mounted in place of the door. Works well for us.
