Remember the speed you cruise at has a big effect on your mileage. My CC Magna with 525 HP Cat gets around 6.5 MPG, but then again I set my cruise at 60 MPH. This speed seems to maximize my mileage. I suppose with better driving habits I could increase this a little, but I do not drive enough to develop those habits. We travel from point A to point B then park for several months.
We're considering a 2006 Magna as a replacement for ours. Is the 6.5 measured off the VMS, or off the gas pump? We're about 15,000 pounds lighter with a 350 hp Cat running about 63 and get 9+ MPG with no wind and generator running full-time while driving--that's a big difference.
Another issue with mileage is the range. We can pretty much count 1,000 miles between fill-ups before the generator shuts off.
you are truely an exception to the rule for sure.Never ever heard of a 350HP DP getting the extra ordinary mileage your claiming.
I had a 1997 38ft no slide 325 cummins and got 7MPG then a 350 cummins 2 slide unit and got 7.5 and now have 425HP Cummins 4 slide and get 8MPG.This is combined passes(grades) and flat land
