Mr. Clean Magic Eraser

First of all I do not own stock in Proctor & Gambel! My wife had me use one of these on the RV windshield and it took sun baked bugs right off the window! I then used it to brighten up the headlight (clear) covers there looking like new again. My wife got hot asphalt (that dried on the body) on the side of the toad while going thru road construction zone and that eraser took the asphalt off. On the directions it says not to use on a vehicle body, but it didn't damage the paint! I looked on the product box and it's like Aerospace #303 it doesn't list the ingredients! But it does say do not use with bleach! So I'm assuming it has ammonia in it even though I couldn't smell it? It amazes me how that eraser being so soft and smooth can work so powerfully! By chance does anyone else use these on there RV?
  • I agree it is an amazing product. If definitely has limitations though. It feels soft but it has microabrasive particles that can scratch highly polished surfaces like vehicle paint, some glass and plastic.
  • Strange, I've tired ME on two different occasions and it disintegrated in my hand long before it did any good. I know others have wrote about how well it worked on their awnings but it did nothing for mine.
  • I've tried just about everything on my awnings, windshield, fiberglass etc. Magic Erasers do work, but they are abrasive. My once white slide topper did look better after the eraser, but now the crud is harder to remove due to the rougher surface.
For non-glass surfaces my wife mixed-up a bottle of equal parts hydrogen peroxide, water and Blue Dawn liquid soap. She uses it in the bathrooms too and all the ceramics and grout always look like new.
Spray it on a cool surface, let it sit for a minute or two then wipe or spray it off. Wiping helps to get the more stubborn stuff off.
No bleach and no abrasives. Cheap too.
I've found this to be #1 for windshields on all my vehicles for 20 years. Walmart, Autozone etc. Any bug guts that do stick to the RainX'd glass will easily spray off. That is a near miracle in Alabama when the summer sun cooks all the car surfaces so hot you can't touch them. Without RainX you almost need sandpaper or steel wool to get the windshields presentable.
