Murphy Bed Retrofit?

In my search for my "perfect" used MH I keep running into the problem of coach length vs comfortable bed. I want something as compact as possible but with a comfortable bed.

An example would be the Pheonix Cruiser 2400: I like the length and layout ok but the sofa sleeper doesn't appeal to me. A murphy bed / sofa / dinette like Leisure Travel offers would be ideal for me. Does anyone offer a retrofit MB like LT's? I'd just buy a Leisure Travel or Triple E MB model but even the used ones are out of my price range.

Here's what I'm talking about. Murphy Bed
  • Hi,

You might inquire at Triple E motorhomes. At least one of their class c rv's has a Murphy bed.

I'd love to retro fit one to my class C, too.
  • Thanks, I meant the 2400; I edited my post.

I have to kind of roll out of bed to protect my back, so corner beds are not good. I guess the 2400 sofa bed is air on the older ones and memory foam on the newer ones but I've yet to meet a comfortable sofa bed. :-)

Anyway, I like the idea of the residential mattress on the murphy bed. I'm a cabinetmaker by trade and have built murphy beds but the LT one with the sofa is different from what I've seen. It also seems that the bed rises as it comes down.
  • PC 2350 is rear corner bed. Do you mean PC 2400? We looked at one at Atlanta rally and sofa bed didn't seem that uncomfortable but no idea what an extended trip sleeping on it every night would be like.
