My TV Antenna is a Windguard but its 2004. I went on the roof to see if there was a model number and theres not any. I could not find any information in the books about it. Is it outdated and should be replaced? I replace the Antenna on my 1995 Motor Home and what a difference it made. I tried today turning on the TV and raise the antenna but got no picture so far. Not sure what to do?

The only thing that's changed between now and then is corrosion inside the connections. Replacing an antenna means redoing connections, and hopefully cleaning them.The actual RF side of things is the same as it ever was, well, at least into the early 80s?

My antenna is also a Winegard Batwing and if I raise it and aim like the others in the campground, I get as many channels on the average as the other folks. I have even forgotten to set back to Antenna from Cable and still get some channels. I have replaced all of the old crimpr ring and screw on "F" connectors with compression type fittings.Parked in front of my house in Eagle Rock(N/E LA City)with the power supply on and the batwing in the stored position, I got 63 channels. When I raised and rotated toward the mountain with most of the stations, I didn't get any more but a lot came in clearer and without pixelation. Some stations are 1080 some are 480 so you don't need new and improved you need upgrading.So I would say the first responce is correct, new clean f connectors will improve the operation a lot.

You probably have an early vintage of the Winegard Sensar antenna. Those were pre-HD although still work. You should Google "Winegard Wingman". It's an add-on to your existing antenna which improves the UHF band reception, which is where most of the HD TV channels are now broadcasting. The newest Sensar antenna is essentially the old one with the Wingman already added. I found it helped my HD reception, and most of the other postings are favorable.Of course, this is after doing the connector checks and also making sure you have your antenna booster power turned on.

I can say with near 100% confidence that your antenna cable needs work. After 14 years the end connectors will be shot. The antenna may be toast due to internal corrosion, but it would be the last thing I would replace.

Well, if your Pro amp is truly showing channels with 25/26 then you know that your antenna is good, the coax down to the amp is good, and the amp itself is good. So at this point I'd run a new coax from the amp to the TV and try another scan. If possible, bring in another TV and try the scan on that one.

Are you running through a Winegard BOMB (Box of Many Buttons)? One of those selector boxes that hook up to several TVs and video sources?

Today I got the Winegurd Sensor Pro amp with meters. I installed it in the MH. We ran the TV through the scan mode and still no picture. If you hit exit it says please run Chanel search. Still no picture the meter shows 25. 26 Now what do I do still no picture need help. My TV is Insignia flat screen

Our batwing is 22+ years we did add the extra part when they first came out we get a lot of stations Have also replaced both TVs to hd flat screens.

My antenna is 13 years old and all I did to it was fix the bad cable ends and add a wingman.

I did put the Sensar Pro inside. Very happy with results.

As I said up-tread. the ANTENNA part ot the antenna basically lasts a long long long time (you should last so long) the amplifer inside the head MAY fail. or not. The cable is suspect

I JUST ORDERED THE WINEGARD FROM CAMPING WORLD . I will install it when I get back from a Model T meet. I am taking my 1927 Model T Roadster. It a Tour for 3 days. Lots of fun. I have a 32 Ford, 3 window that I plan on towing behind the MH. That my baby

A year ago my tv antenna was suddenly receiving not signal at all. Ended up having to replace the coax from the antenna head to the connection in the roof bares that goes on down to the receiver. If a connection or the coax is badly deteriorated from weather a new antenna will not receive anything just like the old one.would not receive anything. You may be wasting money just buying a new antenna. A new antenna might be better than the old one but if the old one does not work at all, likely the new one won’t either.

I replaced the complete head unit. You can get the batwing with wingman for about the same as a wingman upgrade. Change the coax (cable). It made a big difference. Very inexpensive fix.

To be honest, on an antenna that old, I would replace the whole head before adding a wingman.
