Actually I didn’t, I was in South Austin from 2011 until 2013 when I moved to San Marcos and full-time into my RV. While in Austin I could see the glow of the 2011 Bastrop fire on the horizon and the smoke during the day. While the drought was officially dropping the area lakes to record lows, I was living in San Marcos at Wolf Creek RV Park in my RV when a flash flood sent 41’ of water down South Austin’s Onion Creek and the same storm also flooded out Pecan Park Riverside RV on the nearby San Marcos River, all while the area was under extreme drought conditions. However, I did miss nearly all of 2014 while I was exploring the west. Texas can have some crazy extreme weather!
