Not to worry, I got a terrific deal on some exhaust headers and ordered them on the 26th. I expect to have them shipped to me by this coming Monday or Tuesday. After I install the headers I’ll briefly start the rig up, set the initial dynamic engine timing, install the radiator and then I’m leaving this flood-prone place I’m currently living. As for my earlier summer fishing and fall grouse hunting in northern Wisconsin, Minnesota and Michigan plans, I’m not sure yet. This engine snafu has been mighty hard on my budget!
So y’all won’t think I’ve just been a lazybones these past few days. Here are some photos of my progress.

Here’s the top of the engine. I’ve also installed the spark plugs and will hook up the spark plug wires after I install some other parts. I’ve removed the unneeded AIR system and need to take photos of my friends early 90’s California sourced Ford 460 powered PU (California 460’s didn’t require AIR systems). I plan emulate to his engines emissions controls (like he did on his early 90’s class A). My friend is going to help me reset the ECM so that all the parts will play nicely together.

The front of my engine with everything installed but the cooling fan, associated pulley, and fan belts. Because of the unfortunate location of the engines timing marks and pointer it’ll be far easier and safer to set the engines dynamic initial timing without these items spinning by trying to dismember me.
After I get the dynamic timing set I’ll install the rest of the accessories including the radiator and transmission cooler. BTW note the new idler pulley that now replaces the AIR pump in the engines lower passenger side front.

PS I've also removed the AC/heater box from behind the grill and am in the process of replacing the heater core. Just think, if I have to drive somewhere cold next winter I'll have heat! YEEEHAAA! I'll never forget traveling through New Mexico during an early winter storm in 2013 and having to pull off the road every 10-15 miles to scrap the ice off the front window.
