You are absolutely correct and I should gave posted the actual one I've been considering.
Champion 201057Which is much quieter (64db and then add a quiter muffler) and more suited, inverter, electric start, dual fuel (removing the tank) and ease of the open frame. But I liked the pic of the other model because it was very clear about removing the gen from the frame.
Now I'm reconsidering installing a battery bank and doing solar. But I need to do some studying first.
I'll probably get the smaller of the two that you showed even with the solar or maybe even smaller.
Either way, I'm not ready to pull the trigger, just reviewing my options.
