In case you have never replaced a frame around the door window. Do not worry about finding one with the same screw pattern. The screws do not go thru the door. There is just a big hole and the frame fits in it. The screws are inside the hole. Before taking the glass out use duck tape to hold the glass on both sides. When you take the screws out the glass will fall if you do not. I replaced mine last year.
As I said before we have much the same same coach house but different layouts and year. We have found ours strong and well insulated. I ended up doing much the same stuff. I also started to do the switch on the propane alarm but decided to just unhook the batterys each trip. Odds of me remembering to hook them are better than me doing the switch before each trip. I also had a couple other minor draws on the battery.
Love that old marine stove. Used one like it years back when diving on the Great Lakes to warm up while running a recovery crew. Never saw on in a C before.
Great thread and pics. Kind of got me thinking of working on mine again. But will wait for warmer weather. 75 year old hands get a bit fussy about working in the cold to much. Good luck with the rest of your projects.
On those scratches on the finish around the inside of the rig. A friend that restores finishes told me a couple days ago to get a walnut or two. Crack them and use the meat to rub on the scratches. Have not tryed it but he does know what he is talking about (Most of the time). Plan on giving it a try after it warms a bit.
You seem to enjoy the work as much as I do.
