I drove down to O'Reileys Auto and bought a 3 inch inside diameter sleeve for about $3.00.
After deburring the cut edges I slipped it over the lowered section of pipe, then raised it up ad slid the sleeve over the other pipe.
I fired up the Miller 211 Mig welder (using gas & solid wire) for the 1st time and welded up the seams while laying on the driveway with the front end up on jack stands.
While the welds aren't pretty, they are complete all the way around (the top was a pain).

I sprayed the entire area with some hi temp VHT exhaust paint I had on the shelf.
As a side note, this is a one time procedure- the next time the B&M deep pan needs to be removed the exhaust will have to be dropped from the left exhaust manifold.
